Important: what this kit is and is not
This is an educational kit designed to teach measurement and scientific reasoning. It is not a certified water-testing service and its readings must not be used to decide whether water is safe to drink, bathe in or cook with. If you have any concern about your drinking water, contact your local water utility or a certified testing laboratory. Never taste or drink any sample collected during these investigations.
Safety
- Adult supervision is required for every activity in this kit.
- Not suitable for children under 3 — contains small parts that are a choking hazard.
- Nothing in this kit is food. Do not taste, eat or drink any material, sample or liquid.
- Water filtered or produced during any activity is not drinking water. Pour it away when the investigation is finished.
- Wash hands after handling soil, water samples or filter materials.
- Do not collect water from drains, sewage outfalls or fast-moving or deep water.
- Keep the kit away from pets and younger siblings between sessions.

How many tests does it contain?
The number of strips and vials is printed on the pack and on the packing list included with your order.
Can we test a local creek?
Collect only from a safe, shallow, accessible edge with an adult present. Never enter moving water, and wash hands afterwards.
